Consistency is key when it comes to solving the invasion of European green crabs. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 403) Amy is in Rockingham County, New Hampshire with Dr Gabriella Brandt, fisheries specialist at UNH, to learn more about the invasive green crabs wreaking havoc on the New England coastline. They are joined by Brendan Vesey, chef at Botanica restaurant in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, who aims to create a demand for green crab by introducing them as a dish on his menu, hoping to give fishmongers a reason to fish them. Amy helps him create a tasty seafood boil, and though the crabs are pesky, they are certainly delicious.
