In this season 3 segment of “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 306), we explore the quaint, coastal town of Westerly, Rhode Island, including all of its rich history. Westerly is home to the Watch Hill Carousel, a national historic landmark and the oldest continuously operating flying horse carousel in the U.S. The town also has the Watch Hill Lighthouse, guiding sailors home since 1745, and if you get tuckered out from sandy beaches and coastal cliff walks, there’s always the Ocean House, a luxury hotel known for its incredible views and delicious lunch.
