The easternmost part of the United States is a region unlike any other. With rocky, jagged coastlines and deep, lush forest, it’s remote and largely undisturbed. In this season 3 segment of “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 306), we are in Eastport, Maine, home to the largest tidal whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere. The whirlpool is a result of unique geological conditions and currents. Other than the whirlpool, the ocean here is teaming with wildlife from seals to dolphins and whales.
