Something about New England’s pastoral yet rugged terrain has attracted creatives for years. Nestled in the Berkshires, a region known for its flourishing art scene, lies the town of Williamstown, Massachusetts, home to the Williamstown Theatre Festival. In this season 3 segment of “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 304), we had the pleasure of witnessing the world premiere of The Closet, a play in which household name Matthew Broderick had a leading role. In this segment we talk to Mandy Greenfield, artistic director, to learn more about the festival’s history and appeal to big-name celebrities (think Bradley Cooper and Sam Rockwell).
