Equidistant from both Boston and New York City, the picturesque town of Lenox, Massachusetts, draws a steady stream of vacationers. In this season 3 segment of “Weekends with Yankee,” (episode 304), we discover what is perhaps Lenox’s most well-known attraction, the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood. Amy joins up with author Alana Chernila, who shows her the local tradition of picnicking at Tanglewood. Together they make a variety of picnic goods including beet soup and a corn salad. Then, they enjoy the fruits of their labor on the lawn, listening to the sounds of the orchestra. It’s a perfect summer evening, with good food made sweeter by blissful music.
