The Lakes Region of New Hampshire is a jewel in its own right, but it also hides a secret architectural gem. In this season 2 segment of “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 203), we’re in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, at Castle in the Clouds, a historic mountaintop estate overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. Originally built in 1913 for a wealthy Boston shoe manufacturer and named Lucknow, today it’s a public tourist destination. Learn about the history of the estate and its association with the Arts and Crafts movement, and admire its breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It’s truly a New Hampshire attraction like no other.
