You can make your lighthouse sleepover dreams come true in Newport, Rhode Island. In this season 2 segment of “Weekends with Yankee (episode 201), Richard is in Narragansett Bay to visit Rose Island Lighthouse, a Newport icon known for its history and (in more modern times) its unplugged hospitality, welcoming daily visitors and overnight guests. We learn more about the history of the island and the unique lighthouse, which is furnished to appear as it did in 1912, including a climb to the top for exquisite views of the Atlantic Ocean.
