We’re going with the grain in this season 5 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 504). Richard is in North Woodstock, Connecticut, to meet Meb Boden and Tom Vaiciulis, owners of Meb’s Kitchenwares. The pair makes artisanal kitchenware out of locally sourced, New England hardwoods. In this segment, Richard and Tom pick out a beautiful piece of wood before bringing it back to the shop for Meb to shape and stain. Richard tries his hand at woodworking with guidance from Meb and leaves with a beautiful piece of kitchenware that will last for years to come.
