Walden Pond in Photos | Thoreau Would Recognize This Place

Award-winning photographer Smari grew up in Iceland. He bought his first camera at the age of 14, financed by selling the daily Icelandic newspaper, and has been obsessed with photography ever since. After studying business, Smari left Iceland for California to attend Brooks Institute of Photography. He then crossed the country to Boston and recently back to California, where he now lives on a vineyard north of San Francisco. Smari’s spare time is dedicated to cooking local food and photographing Walden Pond for his book and fine art project, Walden: A Year.
