Honey Orange Muesli

Our version of a natural breakfast food called Birchermuesli which was developed by a Swiss nutritionist.

Yield: 6 servings.


  • 2 cups quick or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans


Combine the oats, milk and salt in a bowl; cover and refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, add the remaining ingredients If desired, drizzle a little more honey on the top and more milk or cream.
