Chicken Fried Steak 2

Yield: 4-5 servings


  • 3 lbs round steak, tenderized
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • fresh ground pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • vegetable oil
  • Gravy
  • 1 tsbp butter
  • 6 tbsp flour
  • 3 cups hot milk
  • salt and pepper


Cut steak into 6 pieces. Combine flour, garlic powder, paprika and pepper on a plate. Combine eggs and milk in a bowl. Dip each steak in egg/milk mixture then coat with flour mixture. Cook steaks in hot oil in a heavy skillet. Remove and keep steaks warm. Add butter to pan and mix with drippings. Add flour and cook and stir til flour browns. Add hot milk and sti til thickened. Season with salt and pepper and pour over warm steaks.
