Broccoli Salad with Golden Sorghum Dressing
The secret to this recipe is the sorghum in the dressing. Golden, sweet sorghum tastes best, if available. Otherwise you may need to adjust the quantity to taste.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
- 2 bunches raw broccoli, cut apart
- 1/2 red onion, diced
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 10 to 12 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
InstructionsIn a large serving bowl, combine vegetables and raisins.
- 1 cup real mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons golden sorghum
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
InstructionsCombine dressing ingredients in a jar and shake well (or whisk in a bowl). Pour over salad, and allow to marinate 1 to 3 hours.
Stir in crumbled bacon just before serving.
