1 lb dry pinto beans, or other beans (2 cups)
2 t salt
2 t onion or garlic powder
2 t cumin powder
Wash beans and cover with 6 cups water, bring to boil, cover and let stand 1 hour. Then cook till tender enough to mash (approx. 4 hours.) Add more water if necessary to mash. Use mixer to whip, as with mashed potatoes. Serve
