Maple-Cranberry Sauce

I came across this recipe many years ago and have used it ever since for holiday cranberry sauce. I like the hint of maple flavor. My grown daughters insist on making it for their friends’ families!

Yield

about 5-6 cups

Ingredients

2 packages fresh cranberries, rinsed and picked over
1 cup maple syrup (I use the darkest one, for fuller flavor)
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

Bring the syrup, water and sugar to a boil.
Pour in cranberries and bring to a simmer.
Stir occasionally until the berries pop and mixture thickens slightly.

Serve warm or cold.
