Bread Pudding

Makes 6 servings.


5 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk, scalded and cooled
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 slices bread
1/4 cup raisins


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat the eggs, sugar, and salt. Stir the milk and vanilla into the egg mixture. Break the bread into small pieces and add to the mixture; then add the raisins. Pour into a buttered 1-1/2-quart baking dish and place in a pan of hot water in the oven. Bake for 45 minutes.
