3/4 cup shortening
3 tablespoons cocoa
1-1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup cottage cheese
pinch of salt
Mix the cocoa with creamed shortening. Beat the eggs until thick and add the sugar gradually, then add the chocolate mixture. Add the vanilla and cottage cheese and beat for 1 minute. Sift the dry ingredients and blend into this mixture. Bake in a buttered 8-inch square pan in a 350 degrees F oven for 40 minutes. Cool and frost with Fluffy Chocolate frosting, or serve warm with lightly whipped cream.
