The mountains around the Lakes Region in Nh aren’t tall but there are some challenging areas to traverse. There are three sets or ladders on the ascent to Mt Percival. Upon your completion of the third ladder you have to squeeze through a narrow cave before you can continue your journey to the top.

The summit of Mt. Lafayette in NH is one of the most glorious places in all of New England. It is also one of the most extreme spots for climate. I was impressed that this collection of trail signs survive the elements.

Reid State Park in Maine has it all – beach, marshes and hiking trails. This picture was taken on an early spring day. As cold as the ocean water was, it was still tempting togo for a dip.

Time slows down as heavy cloud come in towards sunset over the silver waters of Lake Champlain. Looking towards the Canadian border, red boats tug at their moorings, eager to break free. It’s a place of breathtaking wonder and beauty.
