Victory for Pipeline Opponents
On April 21, residents in southern New Hampshire and parts of Massachusetts awoke to the surprising and welcome news that energy giant Kinder Morgan had suspended its plan to build a nearly 200-mile pipeline, from a point west of Albany, New York, to Dracut, Massachusetts. In the January/February issue we wrote about the project (“Power Struggles,” p. 108) and the complexities surrounding it.No Joke

I’m sure your story “Only in New England” in the November/December (p. 22) issue was meant to be comedy, but the Marilyn Monroe like character showing all on the Mayflower was in poor taste. I do not wish to see that name in Yankee. Our history needs to be honored, not to be a joke, and children need to see history as the truth.

In your January/February issue you didn’t have one article on Valentine’s Day! Not even an ad, love story, a story on Valentine crafts or something on Valentine celebrations. I have been a subscriber for many years and I’m very disappointed you can’t compete with the issues from the 1980s and 90s.

Denise Silva My Grandmother and I used to go to Jordan Marsh as a special treat when I was younger and would always stop in for one of their muffins. I now have 16 blueberry bushes and plan on making those muffins for my family and friends. Thank you for the recipe that you posted online. It brings back wonderful memories.
