Hear the Legend of the Whydah Pirate Ship and Learn Its True History

The pirates onboard the Whydah might’ve just been the Robin Hood’s of their time. In this season 4 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 410), Richard meets with Barry Clifford, recognized globally for his work as an underwater archeologist recovering the Whydah Pirate Ship, the only authenticated pirate ship in the whole world. Barry tells Richard the legend of the Whydah which he first heard as a child. With witches, pirates, and treasure, it’s a true adventure tale, but it’s not all fiction. In this segment, Barry brings a host of sunken artifacts from the ship and tells us everything he knows about the true legend of the Whydah which is equally, if not more thrilling, than the fable.
