  1. Many thanks from Rock of Ages Granite Quarries for the “Best Rock Show” designation. We’re humbled, Yankee; the award rocked our socks off! And we are delighted that you agree with us that touring our granite quarries, watching stone crafters at work, and trying your hand at granite bowling or sandblasting at the Visitors Center quite frankly… rocks.

And we’re curious about the designation: “Best Rock Show”?

We’re between a rock and a hard place here because it turns out that “Rock of Ages” is also Broadway hit rock musical, as well as a 2012 movie starring Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin.

While Barre, Vermont isn’t quite Broadway, we haven’t been living under a rock. We like to think we’re hip, good-looking, and rock around the clock with movie stars. But honestly we know a great deal about the “other” Rock of Ages because their news is pretty much what our Google alerts continue to faithfully return.

One thing we know: don’t rock the boat. If Yankee says we here in Barre, Vermont, present the best rock show, we’ll take it!
