The pumpkin ice cream appears on the menu sometime in September. Yes, I can manage to avoid the temptation of Kimball Farms’ ice cream in Jaffrey most of the summer, but the lure of their perfectly creamy, perfectly spiced pumpkin ice cream calls to me in the fall. The servings are huge, appallingly huge, but that still doesn’t entice me to share my ritual of fall: a hot fudge sundae with pumpkin ice cream. You gotta get there quickly, though. Kimball’s usually closes down for the season by Columbus Day.
