Suzanne DeGeorge’s interest in photography was first sparked when she picked up her grandmother’s old Kodak Brownie to take pictures of her little sister, whom she dressed up in various outfits. Although she’d always enjoyed taking photos, she began dedicating more time to the pursuit when she moved to northern Massachusetts in 2007. The quiet simplicity of New England, with its rolling hills, ocean rush, majestic mountains, and changing seasons, provides new and different photo scenarios each day. She prefers to be out walking with her camera, especially in the early morning or at dusk, to anything else.
Suzanne never leaves home without her camera and works as an assistant to a financial planner to support her photography. She’s also a passionate volunteer and photographer with Wings and Hooves — an organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding instruction to children and adults with physical, emotional, or developmental challenges — where she captures the program’s special moments with her camera.
Suzanne’s work is currently published on the cover and interior shots of the 2011-2012 Newburyport Guidebook. You can view more of her work at www.sdegphotography.com and at Handcrafter’s Hall in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
