Ever wondered what it looks like inside the Nubble Light?
Matt Rosenberg became the Nubble Lighthouse Keeper in 2012. Located on Cape Neddick Nubble Island off the coast of York, Maine, the iconic “Nubble Light” is one of the most photographed lighthouses in New England.
During the school year Matt teaches English at York High School, but from April to November, he boards a rowboat and navigates the 100 yards of rough seas to the island (30 to 40 hours a week during the summer), where he helps maintain the buildings and grounds. Wanting to share his unique access with other Nubble fans, Matt began taking and posting photos of both the lighthouse and surrounding landscape online. Before long, Nubble Art was born. A resident of nearby Wells, Matt loves being able to share the special beauty of Nubble Light with its many admirers.
Please enjoy these photos taken inside the Nubble Light and from unique vantage points on the island.
