Viennese Dessert Bars



  • 1 pound butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups nuts
  • 1 pound jar of jam of your choice


Mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks. Blend well. Add flour gradually and add in nuts. Spoon half of batter into greased cookie sheet with sides. Press down with hand. Spread jam over all and dribble remaining batter on top. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cut squares or bars while hot. Let cool completely. Serve.
