Note: If you make this recipe on a damp or rainy day, the cookies won’t be quite as crisp.
Yield:
24 to 30 cookiesTotal Time:
20 minutesIngredients
Cooking spray
1/2 cup (1 stick, or 8 tablespoons) salted butter
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° and mist two 9×12-inch cookie sheets with cooking spray. Cream together butter, egg, brown sugar, and vanilla. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Drop mixture by the heaping teaspoonful onto the cookie sheets and flatten slightly. Don’t overcrowd them, as the dough will spread into thin, crisp cookies. Bake until light brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.
something wrong with these cookies, so thin i needed to add flour just to cook them.
and it took 12 minutes, and they were so sweet I could not eat them.
These cookies are thin & sweet with a deep buttery flavor. No additional flour is necessary. I have had rave reviews giving these cookies as gifts. A wonderful recipe!!
This are THE best cookies I’ve ever made! I’m so glad I doubled the recipe! These cookies prove everything’s better with butter!
Can I add chocolate chips to this recipe without changing any of the ingredients? I LOVE my cookies super crisp!
Seems to me we used to make something like these but with some oatmeal flakes in them.
I love the super crispiness of the cookie. I made these gluten free using King Arthur cup4cup flour and mini chocolate chips instead of nuts. Super amazing & very easy to make.
