Young Sugar Maple on October 22, 2007
There was a very old, very large sugar maple growing in my back yard. It died a few years back. Near to that maple was some brush, in the brush was a sugar maple sapling. That little sapling has prospered and grown tall. Someday, it will cast a shadow as far and wide as that of its parent tree.
