Tadpole Pie

This is really a cake, but the way the icing appears caused my children (many years ago) to name it Tadpole Pie. They still like it and request it from time to time. This is a good quick dessert for a Sunday night pot luck.
Yield
1 cake
Ingredients
1 yellow cake mix
1 bag chocolate chips, divided
1 can vanilla icing
Instructions
Prepare cake as per directions except add 1/2 bag of chocolate chips to batter and bake in a 9″ x13″ pan.
After cake is baked, ice while still warm and scatter chocolate chips on top of icing. Smooth icing carefully, do not try to mix chips into icing, just smear them. This is the tadpole part.
