This is one of my families favorite cookies. It came from a lady I worked with and she was kind enough to share it with me.
4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 sticks butter
1 stick oleo
1 pint Hoods Golden Vanilla Ice Cream
Mix flour and salt in a large bowl, blend in the rest of the ingredients as for a pie crust ( Ice Cream needs to be left to soften before adding).
Refrigerate overnight, dividing dough into 6 parts.
Roll out into strips, fill, fold and bake at 325 degrees.
Filling:
1 pound walnuts grated, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup hood milk (warm). Cook or microwave all ingredients until bubbly.
