I got this recipe from my mother. She clipped it out of a magazine when she was younger. Don’t remember what magazine or the year.
1 ham (of course)
3/4 cup bourbon (to be split)
2 cups brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
Whole cloves
Score the ham, then insert the dry cloves into the x’s of the ham. Pour 1/4 cup bourbon over the ham. (I usually pour it on with a spoon and try to work some of the bourbon into the scored areas.) While that is sitting, mix the dry mustard into the brown sugar. Stir the 1/2 cup bourbon into the brown sugar mixture then spoon it over the ham. Bake it at 350 degrees, 20 minutes per pound. During the last 15-20 minutes of baking, baste the ham with some of the liquid from the baking pan. Yummy! This ham is actually better when it has set in the fridge for a day after it has been cooked.
