Said to have been President Eisenhower’s favorite dressing, this concoction turns a green salad into a work of art. Add a can of tuna fish or chopped ham and buttered croutons to make a light meal.
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic, smashed
2 tablespoons minced scallions
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar or tarragon vinegar
1 tablespoon anchovy paste
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Cover and chill at least 30 minutes to let flavors combine. Store in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
