I gave this recipe to mom in 1963 from Sid’s mom, Mrs. Groves.
We all miss Granny Coy and her cooking.
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 cups cocoa
2 sticks butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
Sift flour and sugar in large bowl.
In saucepan melt butter, add cocoa, water.
Bring to boil. Pour over sugar/flour and stir well.
Add milk, eggs (slightly beaten), soda, vanilla. Mix well.
Pour into greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400 for 20 minutes.
