Bake until the top is puffed slightly and the edges have turned a golden brown, about 35 to 45 minutes.
Shades of my childhood! Thx for featuring this deli. As the weather warm for sure we will take a ride from Cheshire Ct. to Mameleh’s deli for the best of the best.
Interesting, my mum put pineapple in our kugel but my Bubbie did not so i am going to make this recipe and see but NOT with cornflake on top. I just put under Broil for a moment or two to make the noodles crunch.
Sounds Good!
What is “ farmer cheese?”
pressed cottage cheese
What is farmer’s cheese? Farmer’s cheese, a fresh cheese variety, is a pressed cottage cheese that is slightly more acidic and has a firmer texture, thanks to a lower moisture content. Farmer’s cheese can be made from the milk of cows, sheep, or goats and can be rolled in different herbs or seasonings for extra flavor. I substitute with ricotta cheese, I can’t find it where I live.
