4 cups diced tart apples
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup chopped dates
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed. Do not beat. Turn into a greased pan and bake for 40 minutes at 400 degrees F or until the apples are tender. Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
