Cocoa Cake

Ingredients

2 cups cake flour
1/4 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup cocoa
2/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup boiling water

Instructions

Line bottom of two cake pans with parchment. Oven = 350deg
Flour through to cocoa
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Add flour mix alternately with buttermilk – start and finish with flour. Bake at 25-30 minutes. Cool in pans – on racks, 5 minutes – pop out – remove paper.

Frost when cool
