Chocolate Dream Bars
1/2 cup (120 ml) brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup (80 ml) butter or margarine, softened
1 cup (240 ml) all-purpose flour
Chocolate Filling:
2 eggs
1 cup (240 ml) brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla
2 T (30 ml) baking cocoa
1 T (15 ml) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
1 cup (240 ml) semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz/168 G)
1 cup (240 ml) chopped walnuts or pecans
Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar with 1/3 cup butter and 1 cup flour until
Crumbly. Press mixture into 13×9-inch baking pan to make an even
Layer. Bake at 350 F for 10 minutes or until golden and crust feels

In large bowl, beat eggs with 1 cup brown sugar and vanilla until
Thick and frothy. Stir in the cocoa, 1 T flour and baking powder.
Blend in the chocolate chips and nuts. Spread mixture over the baked
Layer. Return to the oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until top
Is crusty and dry. Cool.
Chocolate Glaze:
2 T (30 ml) baking cocoa
2 T (30 ml) butter or margarine
2 T (30 ml) water
1 cup (240 ml) powdered sugar
For the glaze, mix the cocoa, butter and water in a saucepan. Place
Over low heat. Cook, stirring, until smooth. Beat in the sugar. If
Necessary, add more water. Spread chocolate glaze over bars. When
Glaze is set, cut into bars. Makes about 36 bars.
