Butterscotch Cookies

2 cups light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts


Cream the butter and sugar, and sift flour together with the cream of tartar and salt. Combine all these ingredients and drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F) for 3 or 4 minutes. Don’t let the cookies get too brown.
