Baked Brown Bread

This recipe is similar to the preceding one but can be whipped up at an hour’s notice.

Ingredients

2 cups buttermilk
3/4 cup molasses
1 cup graham flour
1 cup white flour
1 cup yellow corn meal
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup melted shortening
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Combine the ingredients and bake for one hour in a greased loaf pan in a 350 degrees F oven.

  1. Good Morning, I was wondering if you had any information on a crimped, round, hinged, double loaf baking pan. I have my grandmothers pan that she used to make brown bread (non yeast type) in. I’ve tried google searches and some blogs but nothing I have found describes how the pan is used.
