  1. I highly recommend the Tyler Place Family Resort in Highgate Springs, Vermont. Set on the shores of Lake Champlain near the Canadian border, it’s an all-inclusive summer resort for families, boasting what’s arguably the best kids’ programming in the country. There’s an amazing array of activities, both on land and the lake, and wonderful meals, too. Accommodations range from private cottages to apartment-style digs to rooms and suites at the inn. This is the kind of place where families return year after year — sometimes for a decade or more.
