Maine is boasting a new style of winter transportation and it’s very fuel efficient. In this season 6 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 608). Richard is in Newry, Maine to meet Polly Mahoney, co-owner of Mahoosuc Guide Service. Among other outdoor ventures, Mahoosuc offers dog sled tours during the winter months. Polly came to dog sledding while living in the Canadian Yukon territory, a place rugged and remote, where dog sledding was a genuine mode of transportation. Now, 42 years later, Polly leads dog sledding tours in the wilderness of Maine. In this segment, Richard gets to meet the huskies and enjoys a ride on a frozen, snow covered lake.
