Though smaller than its White Mountain neighbors, Mt. Monadnock is true to its native meaning, that being a mountain that stands alone. In this season 3 segment of “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 303), we’re in New Hampshire to learn more about the highest mountain in the southern region. The mountain is widely popular, attracting around 130,000 visitors in a year, and offers a variety of trails ranging in length and difficulty. The view from the top is magnificent, and on a clear day, all six New England states are visible. The mountain that stands alone is southern New Hampshire’s very own north star.
