In Boston, Massachusetts, one renowned art museum is perhaps better known for what it lacks. In this season one segment from “Weekends with Yankee” (episode 105), Richard visits the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and learns how its namesake didn’t shy away from her unorthodox ways and dreams for a museum to house her priceless art collection. Then, we dive into the museum’s past, most notably as the scene of the largest art theft in U.S. history. While the stolen pieces have yet to be discovered, Anthony Amore, head of security, is hopeful that they will one day be found.
