When a chef marries New England flavors with Mediterranean technique, it’s a match made in heaven. In this season 5 segment of Weekends with Yankee (episode 502), Amy is in Sudbury, Massachusetts, to meet with Boston chef Ana Sortun at Siena Farm, which is owned and run by her husband Chris Kurth. Chris specializes in hearty New England vegetables and provides produce for his wife’s restaurants. In this segment, Amy tours the root cellar and helps Chris harvest some gigantic turnips. Then, she joins Ana to make some crispy turnip latkes with a maple chili yogurt sauce. While enjoying some delicious latkes, Amy gets to learn more about the influence the pair has on each other in their careers and their shared passion for good food.
