He also serves as NewEngland.com’s foliage forecaster and reporter, and has become one of New England’s most keen observers of the progression of the seasons. In his weekly updates, he shares his knowledge of weather, geography, and climate to pinpoint the best fall color in the region.
The White Mountains remain the primary focus of Jim’s photography, where he will often begin before long dawn and stay out after sunset, immersing himself in the beauty of the natural environment. While he shoots with a digital SLR camera, he makes extensive use of filters to control the light during difficult exposures and finds great joy in traditional techniques. He strives to process his images in an authentic way to allow the viewer to best connect with his photographs.
