Scenes from Coppal House Farm in Lee, New Hampshire
With its working draft horses, corn maze, sunflower field, and farm stand, Coppal House Farm in Lee, New Hampshire, makes for a terrific fall day-trip.
Coppal House Farm in Lee, New Hampshire, is a labor of love for owners John and Carol Hutton. This historic farm, located just miles from the busy Seacoast, continues to diversify and grow, thanks to seasonal activities like horse-drawn sleigh rides in winter and a towering, interactive corn maze in autumn. Of special note are the farm’s 10 acres of sunflower fields, celebrated in bloom during their annual weeklong Sunflower Festival (usually held in early August), with a portion of the festival proceeds benefitting the New Hampshire Make-a-Wish Foundation.
The Huttons’ goal is simple: to preserve the beauty of the farm and keep things running for future generations to enjoy. Fall is a wonderful time to visit, with a variety of pumpkins, gourds, and squashes for sale at the farm stand, alongside fresh eggs, farm-raised meats, and culinary oils, including their award-winning sunflower oil.
