As the home to the University of Vermont, Burlington is a bona fide college town, one that truly lives it up in summer. Yes, the season is all too brief, but while it’s here, you can eat, play, and even shop in the great outdoors.

There are sailboats, paddleboards, and bikes for hire — and also plenty of opportunities to just hang out and soak up the city’s vibe. From watching street performers on the pedestrian mall, to attending to one of Burlington’s many festivals, to cheering for the local minor league baseball team (the Vermont Lake Monsters), you’re bound to find a great way to spend a perfect summer day.
