The New England Landscape | Photographs by Christopher Churchill

Christopher Churchill is a Boston-based photographer who has been exhibited and published internationally. He spent much of his childhood in Maine and sailing along the east coast was an integral part of that experience. Those memories of being in the landscape on a boat continue to influence how he photographs his subjects. He is well-known for his portrait work – particularly his series on American Faith, but landscape holds a special place for him and was his first passion.

Christopher Churchill’s photographs are held in various public collections that include The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Center for Creative Photography, The High Museum of Art, The J. Paul Getty Museum, MFA Boston, MFA Houston and The Smithsonian. His editorial clients include Businessweek, Esquire, Flaunt, GQ, Money, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, National Geographic, Time, and Yankee Magazine. His commercial clients include Budweiser, Liberty Mutual, PBS American Experience and The Salvation Army. He was named a Critical Mass top 50 in 2010 and his first monograph American Faith, was published in 2012 by Nazraeli Press. See more from his collection here.
