Photographer Anne Day shares a collection of images from her hometown of Salisbury, Connecticut as part Yankee Magazine’s ongoing “Could You Live Here?” series. Highlighting towns with a small population, but plenty to offer in terms of a simpler way of life, the series celebrates the best of New England’s community spirit. Please enjoy this slideshow of some of our favorites from Salisbury, Connecticut — a quiet town in the northwest corner of the state in the scenic Litchfield Hills — in winter. 1. As a former 50 year denizen of the area, I vaguely remember a season other than winter (July 4th I think it was called). Has “global warming” precluded anything other than snow from showing up there now?

  2. No we still get the summer season in Salisbury. This year the strong El Nino has produced a very warm fall. It’s Nov. 1st and a few days ago the temperature was up in the sixties.

  3. Loving traveling through new England with you.
