We love peanut butter in New England, and Teddie All Natural Peanut Butter has been the local favorite for nearly a century.
Teddie got its start in the 1920s, when Armenian immigrant Michael Hintlian (along with his siblings and cousins) settled in the Boston area and began The Leavitt Corporation, producing and distributing candies and mixed nuts. They added Teddie peanut butter – an affordable source of protein – to the mix during the depression. Eventually, Teddie became the number one all-natural peanut butter brand in New England.
It’s also got one of the cutest and comfiest looking animal mascots ever.
Today, the company is in its third generation of Hintlian family ownership, and is proud of its well-deserved role as New England peanut royalty.
Along with peanut butter, the factory in Everett, MA also produces River Queen nuts, making the company one of the top ten national peanut butter and nut processors in the country. All of the peanuts are U.S.A. grown and harvested, too.
So what makes Teddie taste so good? Mostly, it’s because of what’s not in the jar. The folks at Teddie say: “Our Teddie Natural Peanut Butter contains 100% peanuts and a pinch of salt. We do not add oils, sweeteners or other additives to hide the taste of our peanut butter. We don’t need to. When you use the best peanuts you don’t have to improve upon the flavor.”
My favorite ways to use Teddie peanut butter are in cookies, smoothies, stirred into oatmeal, and (of course) those famous sandwich classics — PB& J and Fluffernutter.
I also sometimes eat spoonfuls right out of the jar – don’t we all?
Beyond the traditional smooth and super chunky (both salted and unsalted), Teddie also offers All Natural Peanut Butter with Flaxseed in smooth and chunky (pictured here — with an extra boost of Omega-3, it’s my favorite), plus All Natural Organic Peanut Butter in both smooth and chunky. All are high in protein, low in carbohydrates, cholesterol free, vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and Kosher. What more could a peanut-lover want?
Are you a fan of Teddie peanut butter? What’s your favorite way to use it?

I go threw 1 1/2 jars of super chunky in a week. My husband eats it right out of the jar. I keep a jar of the smooth with flaxseed ay my desk. What’s wrong with having a pb&j sandwich for breakfast? Nothing!?

Teddy Peanut Butter is the best natural peanut butter on the market. It’s almost as good as the fresh peanut butter that was made and sold in the Kennedy’s Butter and Eggs chain of my childhood. Also Teddy’s is sold in glass jars which are great for storing leftovers, single portions of hommade soup, I even store nuts in my freezer in my Teddy’s jars. And miscellaneous household items that usually clutter kitchen drawers. Elastics thumbtacks buttons etc. Love myu Teddy’s Smooth.
