Yankee Bread!
I am excited about trying this. I can almost taste it AND I’m not a great fan of molasses, but it still is beconing me!
Years ago my brother’s girlfiend made some Grapenuts bread and gave a loaf to my family. That was good, too! I’m going to try this recipe – it seems a bit like Anadama, which I love.
Susan, the molasses flavor is light and just the littlest bit sweet – I think you’ll like it! And Martha, yes, because of the molasses Shredded Wheat Bread is similar to Anadama. I am a big fan of that one, too. Will have to try Grape-Nuts bread sometime! Happy baking!
I inherited several wonderful bread recipes from my Grandmother, including one very much like this. I included it and others in my cookbook “Grandma’s Home Bakery.” These are all wonderful recipes that introduce even the youngest baker to the world of yeast baking. Thanks for sharing your recipe and helping to keep home bread baking alive!
Has anyone tried the Raisin Bread recipe that used to be on the back of the Raisin Bran box? My dad used to make that when we were kids and we never kept the recipe because he always used the one on the current box. So, when they stopped publishing it on the box, it was gone….. 🙁
I found this on the Kelloggs web site.
