Creamy Coffee Ice Cream
Although it’s true that vanilla is still the most popular ice cream, New Englanders love the deep flavor of coffee ice cream.

Great recipe! My 11 year old son and I made this on the weekend and it is so good! He did most of it himself and is quite proud of a very successful result.
We’re so glad you and your son enjoyed it, Jennifer! I know I enjoyed the many test batches in my kitchen… 🙂
Oh boy, delicious! what about coffee Jello, served in my corner of New England often with milk or cream and sugar!
OMG, Do folks really make coffee jello? I want the receipe if there is one. Thanks, Jeanne
Years ago coffee gelatin was my father’s favorite. The recipe at that time was on the Knox gelatin package. Sometimes he would whip cream and fold it into the gelatin as it was setting making a mousse like desert. He lived all of his life in MA..
coffee jello can be found on FOOD.COM
Massachusetts folks always always loved coffee jello, sometimes making more coffee than needed just to have jello!
My mother always made coffee jello and served with sliced bananas and whipped cream. So good.
grew up in Everett and then moved to Waban. But really grew up on the Cape. My mom always had the Yankee Magazine. so happy i can get stuff from here to keep my New England Roots alive
At 72 I’m afraid I’m running out of time to revisit my Natick, MA hometown and enjoy my all-time favorite ice cream…Frozen Pudding. Besides, my favorite Ice Cream Stand (Wallace’s is apparently closed for good.
Is there any chance I could impose on you for a shipment of this incredible ice cream to be delivered to me in Lynnwood, WA. I’m so sick of hearing about their great ice cream and unique flavors I Could Scream!!
Don’t get me wrong, I love WA, but they have NO IDEA what great baseball, football, basketball and hockey really is and certainly NO Concept about truly great Ice Cream. I’ll gladly pay for a shipment or even a recipe of Frozen Pudding Ice Cream.
Heck, I would fly out there and pick it up if I could still fly. Please tell me you can do this or who I could call to arrange for this joyous event to happen once again for me and my grandkids (who know not what true ice cream heaven is all about).
Respectfully,
Ron Monaco
ohhh my god Natick Mass, on another note do you remember Marconi’s Italian Resturaunt ????
My mom was always on a diet and she made her own coffee jello with a little bit of dream whip on top it was good
I love frozen pudding ice cream but can’t find any close by. Does anyone have a recipe they could share?
I found this: https://oucecream.wordpress.com/ice-cream-recipes/indian-pudding-ice-cream/
I cannot believe there is no comment about the very best coffee ice cream from Brighams…oh, what a treat. Or a coffee ice cream soda!! Also, yes, coffee jello is a favoite in our home as well!!!

My ex-wife loved coffee ice cream. It was her favorite. Much to her dismay, when we moved to Southern California in 1989 it was practically non-existent there. You could buy a pint of Häagen Daz but that was it.
The best coffee ice cream ever: Gifford’s Camp Coffee
Gifford’s Camp Coffee does make the most flavourful coffee ice cream which would be even better if it had no vegetable gum in it.
Great homemade coffee ice cream at Durham Dari Serv in CT without the work!
OMG! That Recipe looks so utterly ‘wicked awesome’ as youz Guyz are wont to say nowadays…to die for! As an X-Pat of Lowell I so miss Coffee Frappes (&Fried Clams; but not snow, humidity, mosquitoes, Demoncrats!…LOL). While Brigham’s was fine, I thought best such frappes were at Glennies (now Heritage Farms) on the Boulevard. Sippin them across the blvd in the bathhouse parking lot watching the submarine races in the Merrimack maybe made them most flavorful? Recently had to give up sippin White Russians all day due to new meds. As such, found RI’s state syrup, Autocrat, at Amazon as a way to wean off WRs. I get that as less expensive than Coffee Time syrup of my youth. Amazon must hate me as four (i.e. for free shipping) 32oz bottles comes to 8 pounds…LOL! Last summer made frappes with just ice cream/milk/Kahlua. Am so looking forward to receiving my next shipment to jazz it up with Autocrat! BTW, one must have a Classic, one ‘stem’, fountain mixer. IMHO, an e.g. Oster blender doesn’t aerate as well! Lastly: in my youth…LOL…never heard of Coffee Jello. Are there coffee jello Shots as well! Que Barbaro!
Born and grew up in Prov. and Cranston Also grew up on Coffee Ice Cream, today I’m close to 78, and still love and eat Coffee Ice Cream and Love it, It’s great being a Yankee from R. I. and love the New England Today.
There used to be coffee jello mix .Plymouth Rock was the brand name
coffee ice cream and root beer as a float. OH YA!!!
It is nice to see favored types of coffee made into ice cream, jello shots, and the types people enjoyed. I am a New Englander all my life and love coffee ice cream but never thought of some of these to try. Thank you to all.
